A Great Find in Cromford

No visit to Cromford, the birthplace of the first industrial revolution would be complete without a visit to Scarthin Books (@scarthinbooks) on The Promenade. This absolute gem has been trading books in Cromford since 1974.

We could have spent all day browsing, but as we had our guided tour of the Mill to get to, this had to be restricted to about 40 minutes.

After some searching, I found the section on buildings and architecture and began my search for something interesting. Right as time was running out, I found this beauty:

I struck gold when opening the book, it is still in great condition for its age, and the pages soon brought a grin to my face. There are adverts for pre-fabricated building components, heating, general building supplies and services. It was partly because of books like this that offered these pre-fabricated building elements that saw the resurgence of the arts and crafts movement.
