Ernest Wright have been hand-making scissors in Sheffield since 1902.
Pictured are my pair of Ernest Wright Kutrite household scissors which are used for anything from chopping flower stems to kitchen work and everything in between.
Last week, Jonathan Reid, the Production Manager at Ernest Wright gave a very interesting talk at the Power Lab at Kelham Island Museum all about the process of hand-making scissors in Sheffield, pictured in photo 5.
Jonathan's scissors are sent out to discerning customers all over the world, as they have been for much of the last hundred-plus years.
Their website is an excellent resource about scissor making and trade and is well worth a look. See: https://www.ernestwright.co.uk/
